Experiences Gained from My Dental Clinic Internship
Working as an internship trainee at a Dental Clinic has been a valuable experience that has taught me a lot about the dental industry and the importance of providing quality patient care. Throughout my time at the clinic, I had the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of dental practice.

In the summer of 2023, working as an internship trainee at Gentle Dental Clinic in Cleveland has been a valuable experience that has taught me a lot about the dental industry and the importance of providing quality patient care. Throughout my time at the clinic, I had the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals like Dr. Wu and Mrs. Kim and gain hands-on experience in various aspects of dental practice.
Shadowing a dental clinic can provide valuable insights and learning opportunities in various aspects of dentistry, healthcare, and patient care. I learned clinical procedures such as how to communicate with co-workers, how to clean the teeth, how to suction, how to clean and use the wipes. I also learned to use the oral scanner which will send to the lab, which will 3D print the mold for the crown and dentures. I also watch and practice clinic management procedures. I took notes daily so I can reflect on this experiences in the future.
Importance of Communication Skills
One of the key lessons I learned during my internship was the importance of effective communication skills in a dental setting. Whether it was interacting with patients, taking their medical history, or explaining treatment plans, clear and concise communication was essential. I quickly realized that being able to communicate in a friendly and empathetic manner not only helped in building trust with patients but also improved their overall experience at the clinic.
